MONTREAL OBSERVATIONS 2016
Montreal Observations – images taken over the course of the year where a lot of time was spent wandering the streets of Montreal with a camera in hand

The results of urban safaris – in search of interesting observations, metaphors, colours and sometimes it might be just the light. Images were found scouring through alleys, streets and parks. It’s a pastime that goes back to the early years of my photographic education – where I spent countless days foraging for images in Montreal, and years later in Toronto. The “walk-abouts” became a regular activity to sometimes test film, technique or just to search out interesting things in an attempt to either exercise and sometimes even exorcise the brain.
COMPONENT IMAGES : MONTREAL OBSERVATIONS

The rule: if something caught my attention and I stopped, I was committed to photographing it! I had to try and create a composition! Sometimes it worked, and sometimes it didn’t! At the end of the year I edited the images and created a print from the selections. The images that I liked for whatever reason became the 18X24 inch montage, printed on double weight archival paper and available for purchase.
