Styx performed at the 2017 edition of Stranger’s in the Night – featuring Tommy Shaw, James Young, Lawrence Gowan, Todd Sucherman and Ricky Phillips – original bass player Chuck Panozza played a few songs as a guest.

While the band played a few tracks from The Mission, their first new album in over 14 years – keeping the audience entertained is their focus and they played through their huge catalogue of fan favourites. The set list was full of classic songs Blue Collar Man (Long Nights), The Grand Illusion, Lady, Light Up, Miss America, Suite Madame Blue and Crystal Ball. Tommy Shaw jokingly commented about his favourite Styx song, the Gowan hit “A Criminal Mind”. The show continued with Fooling Yourself (The Angry Young Man), Too Much Time on My Hands, Khedive, Bohemian Rhapsody / Golden Slumbers, and finished with Come Sail Away, Rockin’ the Paradise and Renegade. The band worked the crowd, with their polished and tireless delivery of songs that resonated with the cheering crowd.
