The Zombies, featuring almost the entire original band that recorded the album in 1967 that had Colin Blumstone on vocals, Rod Argent on keyboards and vocals, Hugh Grundy on drums, Chris White on bass and vocals while Tom Tooney played guitars, replacing original guitarist Paul Atkinson who passed away April 1, 2004 (aged 58). Other members on stage included Steve Rodford on drums and Jim Rodford on bass.
The audience for the show was incredibly diverse and the energy and musicianship on stage could have competed with almost any band – even 50 years younger!
“In June 1967 five young men walked in to Abbey Road Studios #3. They set out to make an album their own way, but never expected the result would loom so large in their lives,” a press release explains. “The album lead to the break-up of the original lineup, produced an unexpected worldwide hit single a year later, and became a musical touchstone for generations to come. 50 years later, Odessey and Oracle will bring the four surviving members back together on stage to perform the album in its entirety for the final time.”
